Professional experience

Tony joined BWE’s Affordable Housing Group in 2018. He has more than 25 years of experience in conventional and affordable multifamily mortgage finance, particularly with HUD/FHA-insured loans. Tony’s professional focus has been on new development and preservation of affordable housing involving a variety of public programs and subsidies such as low-income housing and historic tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, federal rental assistance, Section 202 capital advance, Section 236 IRP decouplings, Mark to Market and subordinated debt. Tony is an active member of the Ohio Housing Council and Mortgage Bankers Association where he serves in leadership roles on several committees and working groups to affect State and Federal housing policies and programs.

Prior to entering the mortgage industry, Tony was Executive Director of a neighborhood nonprofit housing corporation on Cleveland’s near west side and was responsible for initiating and completing development projects, management, community outreach, board relations, and budgeting. He also served as a city planner in St. Augustine, FL and was involved in comprehensive planning, zoning and land use administration, site plan review, and historic preservation regulations.
