Professional experience

Thomas Smith joined BWE as a Senior Transaction Manager in 2024 as a part of the acquisition of First Southern Mortgage Corporation. Thomas is a member of the origination team at BWE and specializes all facets of the real estate capital sourcing process for all commercial real estate asset classes. In addition to client relationship management, Thomas is also in charge of underwriting and loan marketing for all of the Nashville office’s clients.

Prior to joining BWE, Thomas was the production manager for First Southern Mortgage’s Nashville Office. Over the past 11 years, Thomas has been directly involved in the marketing and closing of over $2 billion in debt and equity placements. Prior to joining First Southern as an analyst in 2013, Thomas completed several college internships at the company, assisting the origination and servicing teams.
