Professional experience

Stephen Brink joined BWE as Executive Vice President in 2024 as part of the acquisition of First Southern Mortgage Corp. of Tennessee. With nearly 40 years of commercial real estate experience, Stephen has vast knowledge and experience to share with clients and assist in structuring debt and equity for their projects. Stephen specializes in providing financing solutions for a broad range of commercial properties, including retail, office, industrial, multi-family, hotels, and self-storage throughout the southeast and US.

Stephen began his career with Fleet Real Estate Capital as a real estate analyst in 1986 and held several positions, ending with the responsibilities of Vice President. In 1996 Mr. Brink was appointed Vice President of Mellon Mortgage Company, a subsidiary of Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh. In May of 1999, Mr. Brink was named Vice President and Manager of First Southern Mortgage Corporation’s Nashville, Tennessee office. He was named partner in November of 1999.

Stephen has personally placed more than $3 billion in permanent loans and equity placements with life insurance companies, Wall Street conduits, pension funds, banks, debt funds, and government agencies, garnering “high producer” awards with several lenders. These placements include construction and permanent loans, mezzanine debt, joint-venture equity arrangements, private equity infusions and tax-credit financing. With nearly 40 years in commercial real estate, Stephen brings extensive valuation skills for loan, investment, and portfolio analysis and structuring.

Stephen has served as a managing member and investor in several commercial office, retail, multifamily, and residential properties. On these investments, he has been involved in structuring the corporate entities, raising equity, and serving as an asset manager.
