Professional experience

Peter Borstelmann is an Executive Vice President at BWE bringing with him over fifteen years of experience in the multifamily real estate industry. With a background in both underwriting and production, Peter looks to provide clients a best-in-class execution for their entire real estate portfolio. Peter works with local and national owners to provide direct lending executions for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA HUD programs. Coupled with a wide array of life company, bank, and CMBS executions for all asset classes.

Peter also served as a senior underwriter for over $2.5 billion of Fannie Mae’s fixed and variable credit facility transactions for some of the nation’s largest public and private real estate firms. He served as underwriting project manager on one of the largest Fannie Mae transactions, a $1.35 billion acquisition loan for 25,000 units in 2008.

Before joining Red, Peter was an economist with the Department of Commerce in the Bureau of Economic Analysis and a successful technology consultant for UUnet Technologies.
