Professional experience

Josh Tarpley joined BWE in 2026 as a Senior Vice President, where he is responsible for structuring and executing debt and equity transactions across all commercial real estate asset classes. He works with a diverse range of capital sources, including life insurance companies, banks, debt funds, CMBS lenders, and the GSEs, to deliver tailored financing solutions for his clients. He is actively involved in all phases of the transaction process, from underwriting and structuring through closing, and is focused on delivering efficient execution in a dynamic lending environment.

Prior to joining BWE, Josh spent eight years at Walker & Dunlop, where he served as Managing Director and played a key role in arranging capital for clients throughout the Southeast and across the country. During his tenure, he contributed to the successful closing of more than $3 billion in commercial real estate transactions, advising both institutional and private clients through a wide range of market cycles and capital structures.

Earlier in his career, Josh held loan origination roles with Lincoln Financial Group and Voya Investment Management, focusing on conventional and bridge financing in major markets including Atlanta, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., and Richmond.

Josh is based in Atlanta, Georgia, where he lives with his wife and four children. Outside of work, he enjoys coaching youth sports, hunting and fishing with family and friends, and is an active member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church.
