Professional experience

Over his 25-year career in the real estate industry, Jon has obtained valuable experience in a variety of areas that include project development, loan origination, and the overall structuring of complex commercial real estate transactions. Jon is involved in all aspects of real estate capital and over his career he has been involved with the financing of over $2 billion of residential, and multifamily real estate. Prior to joining BWE, Jon was senior vice president at Hunt Mortgage Group, formerly Centerline Capital Group, where his focus was debt placement for multifamily and affordable housing, as well as in healthcare communities, located in the southeastern region of the U.S.

Early in Jon’s career, he served as executive vice president at BSR Trust, formerly Summit Housing Partners. During his thirteen-year tenure at BSR Trust, Jon had an integral role in growing the company from 5 properties in central Alabama to 87 properties located across 9 states, comprising nearly 13,500 multifamily units.

Jon is a frequent speaker at national and regional affordable housing conferences covering the topic of financing multifamily real estate with FHA, rural development, and agency (Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac) debt products; which include both 4% and 9% LIHTC executions as well as section 8 preservation and restructuring.

Education

Jon is a graduate of Auburn University in Montgomery, AL and holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration, focusing in marketing and finance.
