Professional experience
At BWE, Charles oversees the Richmond, Virginia office. He has over 20 years of commercial real estate experience underwriting and originating both debt financing and equity on behalf of life insurance companies, banks, credit unions, pensions funds, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, CMBS, and debt funds. He has advised clients across a broad range of property types including multifamily, office, retail, industrial, hospitality, and self-storage, among others.
Prior to joining BWE, Charles was a managing director at Phillips Realty Capital, joining in 2002 to establish a local presence in Richmond. Charles’s background includes various finance-related positions in both commercial and investment banking with Bank of America and Wells Fargo.
Education
Charles holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Davidson College and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
